Roxy Music / For Your Pleasure SDE exclusive blu-ray audio

Roxy Music's 1973 album, For Your Pleasure, is available for a limited time to pre-order as an SDE exclusive blu-ray audio. It features Dolby Atmos mixes by Bob Clearmountain, a 5.1 Surround mixes by Steven Wilson and a host of extra content, including a 192/24 stereo flat transfer.

Regarded as one of the greatest second albums of all time (the 'Godfather II' of long-players?) For Your Pleasure saw a band already redefining the possibilities of rock and pop creating their ambitious second act. The dark, hard glamour and power of the instantly recognisable album artwork perfectly reflecting the music within. All mystery. An invitation to dream.

Following the breakthrough debut album and hit single ‘Virginia Plain’, Roxy Music achieved the rare feat of becoming both critically revered art-rock game-changers and genuine pop stars: For Your Pleasure charted in the UK Top 5 and surpassed the commercial performance of its predecessor. 

Bryan Ferry remembers the expectations of delivering a second album: “It was a good pressure. Realising, now there’s an audience to write for. An intelligent audience. I felt a responsibility for the work that I hadn’t for the first album, certainly with regard to the lyrics. There was a hunger in the whole band to do more: a very strong urge to get back into a recording studio and make a better record than the first one". 

The SDE exclusive blu-ray audio offers the Atmos and 5.1 mixes alongside a super hi-res 192 kHz / 24 bit flat transfer of For Your Pleasure from a copy of the original EQ'd production tapes.

The SDE exclusive blu-ray is #71 in the ongoing SDE Surround Series and comes packaged in the same deluxe hardcover media book packaging used for the Roxy Music's Flesh + Blood (and Avalon) and as ever, it ships with a free, collectible SDE Surround Series slipcase.

Dolby Atmos Mixes on blu-ray offer much higher quality than their streaming counterparts. They are not compressed as on streaming platforms. Encoded in Dolby TrueHD Atmos it has a bit rate 10 times higher (up to 8000 kbits/s) than streaming’s Dolby Digital Plus (768 kbits/s).

For Your Pleasure will be released on 6 November 2026 via UMR/Virgin. Any item ordered alongside this Roxy Music blu-ray will not ship until that date.
